Au·then·tic·i·ty
Not false or imitation. True to one's own personality, spirit, or character.

It has been said that Detroit is the most "real" city in America. For better or for worse,
Detroit is what it is -- a representation of our greatest ambitions and challenges.
We should appreciate what makes it unique -- its architectural legacy, its impact on
the modern world, its tenacious spirit -- and be true as we build our city's future.

What do
you think makes Detroit authentic?
Don't be afraid,
say it -- the good, the bad, and even the ugly.

Metropolitan Building
33 John R Street, Downtown Detroit

Built in 1925, the neo-gothic Metropolitan Building was once occupied by jewelry
manufacturers and wholesalers, but now stands vacant awaiting redevelopment.
Like many of Detroit's architectural gems, it has a story to tell. But more importantly,
it is part of a story yet to be written...
