Bureau of Urban Living was a neighborhood general store located in the Canfield
Lofts in the Cass Corridor of Midtown Detroit. For four and a half years, it was a
place where urban dwellers came to buy home goods and share their ideas for
the city.
Our greatest joy was to watch these ideas manifest in real places, projects and
partnerships that have forever changed the way we think and feel about Detroit.
Thank you to the thousands of loyal and generous Detroiters who supported
Bureau in so many ways. You turned our little storefront experiment into living
proof of why place matters.
Soon, this space will be home to a brand new shop from our dear friends at City
Bird. It will be called Nest (isn't that lovely?) with a whole new look & feel. We
couldn't be more excited. It's time for something fresh, and we can't wait to shop
at Nest and other neighborhood shops this holiday season.
Until then, thank you for your continued support of our local independents.
Every day, we each have a choice: we can continue to live in a segregated,
sprawling region, or we can be a part of creating a more vibrant, sustainable city.
We have never been more confident that Detroiters prefer the latter. Thank you
for voting with your feet.
